We have been in regular communication with Wisconsin housing advocates, and we have worked in a focused way for housing policy change at the state and local levels. We have always sought to build strong coalitions of advocates across the state.
Some of our advocacy campaigns have included:
- Funds for Affordable Housing
- Constitutional Amendment
- Property Tax Exemption Case
- Alternative Models for Home Ownership
We also try to use our development work to demonstrate how new ways of thinking can lead to effective ways of addressing the housing shortage. Our development projects, like Coachyard Square, The Uplands and Oak Glen have been designed to show that mixed-income housing can be successful. As developers we also seek ways to make housing less expensive to build, operate and maintain.
In our consulting work, we promote housing affordable to the full range of incomes in Wisconsin’s workforce, and we assist clients with alternative models for home ownership that can help curtail rapid price increases.
- Technical Assistance on Lease-Purchase Housing
- Building Neighborhoods Workshops
- Madison Area Community Land Trust
- Department of Commerce Workforce Housing
- Working Families Project
